Halloween

I love that each one of my girls has their very own interests and personalities. I think it is a perfect example of how God creates each one of us to be unique to be used for his purpose.

We also had a great time at the Frolic where I think my youngest was happiest about being a 3 musketeers.

We were able to get pretty much everything we needed at Goodwill or the Dollar Tree and I think they turned out adorable.

58: THE FILM Trailer, Fast, Forward. The End Of Poverty

This is a super exciting film that not only brings hope that there could be an end to abject poverty but it is also affirming to know that so many organizations over the years actually have made a difference. Child mortality rates have been cut in half. But half is still to many so we mustn't get tired or give up. But the hope is a sweet reminder that we are getting closer.

This & That

One of things I am really enjoying and hoping I can remember is all of the funny things my kids say, like right now Tessa calls her bathing suit a "swimming soup", Shelby always hides something and says it is "isss-appearing". Tessa always lets me know "I can't know how to do that" when she is asked to do something she isn't sure how to do. Oh my it is so cute I have a hard time correcting them to say the things the correct way! Love my kids! I thank God for them.

Doing Laundry

Well we are on a money saving mission so some friends of ours were going to be making their own homemade laundry detergent so it helped inspire us to get it started as well. I had researched it a long time ago after watching an episode of the Duggars and I have to say it was easy to make and so far seems to be working great. We figured it up and for our household this should save us around $300.00 a year so not tons and tons but I would rather have the $300 than to give it away so for now we are on a Laundry Detergent Mission. Recipe below if anyone else would like to give it a try. Good Luck!

4 Cups - hot tap water1 Fels-Naptha soap bar

1 Cup - Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda*

1 Cup Baking Soda

½ Cup Borax

- Grate bar of soap and add to saucepan with water. Stir continually over medium-low heat until soap dissolves and is melted.

-Fill a 5 gallon bucket half full of hot tap water. Add melted soap, washing soda, baking soda, and Borax. Stir well until all powder is dissolved. Fill bucket to top with more hot water. Stir, cover and let sit overnight to thicken.

-Stir and fill a used, clean, laundry soap dispenser half full with soap and then fill rest of way with water. Shake before each use. (will gel)

-Optional: You can add 10-15 drops of essential oil per 2 gallons. Add once soap has cooled. Ideas: lavender, rosemary, tea tree oil.

-Yield: Liquid soap recipe makes 10 gallons.
